Jaice Mannings (they/them) is a British Columbian artist & filmmaker. Rejecting a common dichotomy, they are tuned into nature & culture, at the intersection of which lays their work: fringe cultures in remote locations.

Jaice works as a Director, Cinematographer, and Editor, and has a daily photographic & writing practice. While experienced on commercial sets, they thrive as a generalist, with small crews, making intimate films in relative solitude.

Often DP’ing the films they Direct, their first award-winning feature sports film, Stripped (2006), won ‘Best New Film Producer’ at the then-prestigious in the outdoor sports industry ‘Bike Magazine Film Awards’. In 2017, they won an Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Camera Work’ on an episode of the docu-tv series Image Quest (2016). In 2021 they were nominated for a 2nd cinematography Emmy for their work on the 1st season of the docu-tv series Return To Earth (2020).

In 2024, a feature documentary they shared cinematography for, on location in Afghanistan, Champions of the Golden Valley (2024), saw it’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. A photo series from this trip is pending release.

Today, Jaice’s focus is on working in documentary, while shifting towards narrative cinema, under the MyDearCinema production company. They remain involved in commercial, natural history, outdoor sports, and experimental genres.

2025 will see the release of multiple new films they have had been in the works. Their directorial debut feature narrative film, Parker Scooter, is currently funded and in pre-production, aimed for a late 2025 or mid 2026 release date.
